At the end of this e-mail is a Ramadan Reminder. I hope you'll subscribe as Ramadan begins Sunday.

Speaking of false religions... my, oh, my... they want to make Mother Teresa a "saint." The shed blood at Golgotha has made salvation available for all, and that's what the 's' in 'saint' stands for - salvation. If you have salvation, then you're already a saint; otherwise, take the 's' off, and you... ain't.

At the bottom of this page are several interactive maps I thought you might enjoy plus the site will give you a different perspective on recent events.

I have been reading "My Utmost for His Highest" for several years now and was greatly encouraged by last Thursday's reading

A random thought I had this week was this: Can a person be considered theologically conservative and critical of the 1948 state of Israel, or can that person be considered theologically conservative and not critical of injustice?

One more link... this past summer we visited the replica of the Tabernacle and tried uploading pictures to our site. A dear friends sent this link as a reminder.

Since we always need "one more" person to pray for us, please feel free to recommend the 'Wednesday Weekly' to other like-minded intercessors in your circle of friends. Invite them either to send an e-mail or to subscribe at our website.

I'm glad to have you with us. Have an awesome week! May God find us listening more attentively to His voice this week as I am,

Yours because His,

Scott

+ Jasmine continued to have difficult days at school, so I mentioned how we ask you to pray for us. Jasmine said, "Ask the Wednesday Weekly friends to help me stop crying. I want to have a good day at school." Jasmine seems to be a born-perfectionist unless all firstborns are that way. She wants to make her letters and numbers perfect the first time and isn't much for practice without complaining... thank you for giving our little girl a visible answer to prayer. What joy it was to pick her up each day and hear, "I didn't cry today!" to which we'd remind her of her prayer request : -)

+ The olive trees in the Prayer Garden needed to be harvested last week, so you prayed with us that the peoples of Jerusalem would either recognize their rightful inheritance as the olive tree or that they need to be grafted in... I wish I could report that everyone has made that commitment but, alas, this will be an ongoing prayer need.

+ Last week some of the leaders from the church visited us, and we asked you to pray that our fellowship time would be focused on how God is moving in our area and what we could do to reach the lost... while we had an enjoyable time of fellowship, we found our focus was not as we had asked. Thanks for praying just the same.

<>< Along the lines of Jasmine's request for "no crying," I'm giving ~11 days advance notice of my physical birthday. I suspect my name will appear in certain publications on Sunday, 2-November, and I'll receive a lot of 'generic' prayer. I'm most grateful for prayer in any form, and I'm asking God to apply all that intercession to meeting my greatest need for that day: a visa extension. We're well over thirteen months past due and, believe me, it's not for lack of trying or submitting the latest piece of data in a scavenger hunt.

You've been praying with us over this matter for a long time, so let's get ready to give Him all the glory as He moves in the life of "Nina" to grant us the visas for which we have applied.

<>< I'll soon get to help a co-worker set up the restored P-100 desktop running Win98se and ask you to join us in praying that all goes well on site. You know how those things can go <g>.

<>< We're waiting on a follow up phone call from a landscaping company to help the Prayer Center with an estimate on parts for an irrigation system, so your intercession will make a difference.

<>< I'll have another opportunity to assist another co-worker with computer needs and, once again, I'm calling on the One Who supplies all the right insights to these challenges. Pray with me on Monday, if you would, please.

<>< Jasmine and Shirin will be helping out in the Children's Club in Bethany on Thursday. Please pray for protection of all involved and that the children will one day know the one true God.

<>< Please pray with us to find the right local kindergarten for Jasmine to attend next year.

>< Pray for the peoples of the Arabian Peninsula.>

Getting Started

Ideas and suggestions

Over the coming weeks, you may pray and fast in a variety of ways. You can use this email edition to pray by yourself in your own prayer times, and also to join with groups of others to pray together. We would encourage you to find creative ways to involve as many people as possible with you in this prayer focus. Jesus gave some special promises of blessing for Christians who come together to pray and agree as a group.

You could organise some weekly or twice weekly meetings over the 30 day period with your church, your youth group, your committee or leaders' meetings, your women's meetings, home Bible studies, cell groups, children's groups; in fact, any occasion when your Christian friends and associates meet together.

Take a social occasion and turn it into a prayer event as well. Have others join with you in a special meal using the prayer topic for that day. Find out all you can about that particular culture - including food and dress, music, sports, etc.

Take notes and keep a journal of your prayer times. Particularly note any Scriptures that God may prompt you to read concerning that day's topic.

"The Night of Power" on Day 27 is a strategic night of prayer.  Consider setting aside this night for an all night prayer time with your church or mission group. Some Muslims spend many hours at the mosque making requests to God during this night. It was supposedly on this night that Mohammed received his first revelation of the Koran.

Let us believe God for an outpouring of His Spirit on our Muslim neighbours worldwide. Let us pray and believe for the fulfillment of Revelation 7:9, that every group, including the peoples of Islam, will be represented before the throne of God on that final day.

A personal note:

Please pray for me and my family at the moment. We are again having a very difficult time financially. We see some hope in the new year, but we have to survive till then.

Also, you can view some pictures of us or find out how to give to us on the web at: http://www.xodigo.com/5Ks/
