After Friday's lunch experience I know why I haven't missed meat in over five months. I stopped by a restaurant to have a plate of roasted "shawarma" rather than improperly combine the tasty meat with bread, which would naturally cause it to spoil during digestion. ["Shawarma" is similar to an American (Greek?) gyro sandwich and, for what it's worth, any time a protein is mixed with a starch you'll get spoilage in the stomach.]

At any rate, when it came time to pay for the meal, I thought I heard the cashier say "thirteen" shekels. I immediately balked at the price since the same meal in Gaza would have been at least half the price, but this was Jerusalem. I put thirteen shekels on the counter and received a puzzled look, and then the cashier broke down to English and said, "No, I said thirty shekels."

"What?! How can that be?" I asked. The answer he gave is what solidified my decision to stay with vegetables: "This is meat, not fa-LA-fal." Yes, I paid over $6 for a plate of dead food. Never again.

Like you, I receive *lots* of e-mail. One of this week's e-mails came from Esther Burroughs who just so happens to have a wonderful web site.  I hope you'll visit. Esther has been a faithful intercessor for us since 1996 when we met at a ladies conference in Cairo.

Since we always need "one more" person to pray for us, please feel free to recommend the 'Wednesday Weekly' to other like-minded intercessors in your circle of friends. Invite them either to send me an email or subscribe at our website.

I'm glad to have you with us. Have an awesome week! May God find us listening more attentively to His voice this week as I am,

Yours because His,

Scott

+ Jasmine asked for "prayer for the baby in my mommy's belly" even though *we* had not been advised; however, Jasmine's heart is with us for a second child... Shirin has made an OB/GYN visit to see why things aren't happening so perhaps Jasmine's prayer will ring true soon.

+ You continued praying that the IPCJ would be 'online' and make available global prayer needs. You felt free to share public ministry needs by sending an e-mail to psalm122 AT bigfoot DOT com... well, before we get too far ahead of ourselves, let's change that address to ipcj AT bigfoot DOT com

Significant progress has been made this week as a co-worker undertook the arduous task of drilling holes in concrete to run Ethernet cable between the buildings. Thanks, "Joe"!

+ Finally, you began praying with us about a gardener who could give the Prayer Garden the care it needs... while we haven't heard any news on a future gardener, we have been making progress on marking the two larger walls of the Prayer Garden with inlaid tiles of the continents. Our neighbors can design a 24in/60cm square mural of each of the continents. If you have a source for high-resolution maps, please let me know.

<>< Use this article as you seek to share Jesus with friends:

TENNESSEE--Relationship-building => key to their relationship with Christ.

<>< Jasmine will dress up as Queen Esther when she goes to playgroup Thursday. Pray that her experience will be memorable, especially as she learns about the role Queen Esther played 'for such a time as this.'

<>< Pray that the IPCJ would be used of God to bring about global church planting movements.

<>< May an upcoming Friday dinner also be used of God for discipling opportunities.

<>< As I celebrate my 19th year of walking with Jesus (now half of my life), ask God to grant a closer, deeper walk where I can continue discipling other new believers.

<>< We could use an extra dose of travel safety all day Monday.

<>< Shirin and Jasmine went to visit our neighbor who just gave birth to a baby boy. Join us in praying that the baby will grow to know God personally. Also, please pray for safety and easy moving for a family that will be moving into the area.

<>< I received the following e-mail from a dear friend and have been given permission to share it with you:

"Dear friends,

We have just finished production of an 11-minute video about the role that Christians are playing in bringing together Israeli doctors and Arab children in need of lifesaving heart surgeries. It features moving visits to the homes of three children now waiting for urgent surgeries, including little Baker from Nablus. There is also stunning footage of the compassionate interaction between an Israeli doctor and a Palestinian baby in the hospital. Then we return to the home of a Gaza baby who was desperately ill five years ago, and walk in with camera rolling to see what has happened since her surgery!

We want to get as many copies of this as possible into the hands of the Church. The doctors need our financial help to keep gaining admission for these children to their hospital in Israel. We pray that when believers see firsthand what we are seeing, many will want to join in.

The video is available on a CD which can be easily viewed on any personal computer or DVD player. We can produce these for about a half-dollar each, so I encourage those of you receiving this letter to feel free to request as many copies as you feel you can distribute to interested friends. We'll be glad to send you 50 if you can use them! Please write and include your mailing address. For broadcast or display before a congregation, we can send a higher-quality DVD. We can also send the video on a VHS tape for those who have no access to a computer or DVD player.

Our precious friends--many of you have stood faithfully with us for years in rescuing these children in need. The opportunities and needs are greater now than ever. We need to grow and become a deeper and broader expression of the body of Messiah. We don't do this through advertising or contacting strangers, but by passing word from one trusted friend to another.

God bless you as you consider joining with us in sharing this video. Muslim families are looking to us, followers of Jesus, as the only hope for saving their children.

5, Thank God for utilities!

6, good working relationships

* We have been blessed with super co-workers!

7, Muslims to meet Jesus while at the mosque

* Even though I didn't hear this to happen today, you may have been one of a precious handful of people in God's throne room today asking for this. Thank you : -)

8, Jewish settlers to know Jesus

* Most of my Saturdays are filled with this very thought. I hope yours will be as well.
