While the peace talks may have an encouraging appearance, deep down my heart breaks for those who have no clue about real Peace. I'm glad your heart longs to see people all over the world know the Peace that passes all understanding "beginning in Jerusalem." A dear friend sent this last week: "Ministry partner and friend Anna reports that one was saved tonight during a prayer meeting in Canada. A few prayer partners got together and prayed over Jericho. It appears that a visitor, unknown to any of the ladies present, joined them and explained that she had been looking for someone to pray with. She sat with them through the prayer time and listened to all the things about Jericho that were lifted up to the Lord. Anna reports that she spoke about the ladies in Jericho and commended their courage for defying radical intimidation. She explained that the ladies in Jericho did not want to be part of a religious order, but that they wanted fellowship with the person of Jesus Christ instead. The visitor listened to all, and then asked Anna about her background. Anna revealed to the visitor that she is Jewish, but that she too follows a person (Jesus) and not religion. The visitor found it very interesting that a Jew was praying fervently for Arabs. The visitor was so moved by the testimony of the ladies in Jericho and the obvious connection the prayer group had with a person instead of just religion, that she gave her life to Jesus. She wanted what she saw in Anna and the prayer group, and what she heard about in Jericho. She needed fellowship with the living person of Jesus. Tonight, she got it and has started the ever evolving process of intimacy with the Lord!" Finally, I saw this latest gospel tract and put together Revelation 20:4 with a group that prefers beheading. I learn more and more about these things! Since we always need "one more" person to pray for us, please feel free to recommend the 'Wednesday Weekly' to other like-minded intercessors in your circle of friends. + <L A S T W E E K>< ++ You prayed that Dan (and other co-workers) would receive necessary information to proceed with visa renewals... nothing yet, so please keep praying. + You asked God to grant "Bill" safe passage into the airport so he could begin a time of volunteer service... he came in without a hitch and thanks you for it : -) + Jasmine's playgroup had a party for her last Thursday, so you joined us in praying for a memorable experience. You prayed, too, that her 'official' celebration be as memorable, if not more so... oh, my! Her playgroup was something else. Feel free to e-mail so I can share the URL for her web page. Friday the 30th was sheer joy! + Once "Bill" was in town, you prayed that he would adjust to the time change and travel weariness, and you prayed that our time together would be mutually beneficial... a parade of some sort closed major streets in and around Jerusalem, so he got off to a 'sleepy' start (or was that me?) Once that was over and he helped make Jasmine's birthday dinner party fun, his adjustment to the time change and travel weariness was made. + You asked God to grant me the energy needed to pick up co-workers from the airport when their plane arrived around 4am... I deeply, deeply appreciate your prayers for this! God granted the energy you requested, and I even dismissed the idea of a thermos of 'Hot Lava Java' coffee for the trip; unfortunately, there was an airline strike that halted all flights out of a particular European country until the afternoon. I had a great, undisturbed morning of prayer for those in the building. + You covered two co-workers last week as their latest stage of language acquisition came to an end... they certainly seem 'relieved' and feel prepared to take on new challenges.
<T H I S W E E K><<>< My mother-in-law has a birthday today (4-June). Pray that she experiences a second birth soon! <>< Continue praying for "Bill" as he volunteers his expertise with books. Pray that he will gain a sense of accomplishment. <>< Pray for a departing family as they take the next step of faith in following Jesus. Ask God to grant them closure in their final month in Jerusalem. <>< Ask God to give us and other co-workers a clear plan or set of ideas on how to see the Prayer Center make measurable progress.
