The past 15 hours have been odd. We had a three-hour "brown out" where the electricity was weak, and then it went out completely. As our evening adventure began, I tried calling our landlord but found the phone line to be dead. Within minutes the propane heating tank in this room went out as did the other propane heating tank in the bedroom where Shirin was reading with Jasmine. Jasmine's electric heater, of course, wouldn't work, and bedtime was fast approaching.

An emergency backup light provided enough light to read with Jasmine the story of Gideon's army. She commented on how warm her bed was, and I felt better. Shirin and I went to bed trusting that the electricity would be back on by 4am when we turn on the water heater, but it wasn't. As I contemplated the day's events, I was dreading starting the day with a cold, cold shower. To make a long story short, the electricity returned as I was finishing this issue but went off and back on again before it was finished. Your prayers for us are amazing : -)

The rest of this week, of course, was just as interesting, to say the least. We live in a mountainous area where TV reception is practically impossible, so our landlord set us up with satellite service ("Ahoy, mate!") Two of the stations we get are from a country that's really been in the news this week plus a popular news source. Seeing this first-hand response is troubling since those stations continue to broadcast victory songs and parades. What a charade. We can also pick up Fox News - imagine that!

I'm finding that the new blogger page is a good place for random thoughts for a "typical day" <g>. I hope you'll find it helpful.

One thing is for certain any time I drive to a new place - I know what it means to be lost. I saw an interesting device that may help and would welcome any advice from those of you who own it.

Since we always need "one more" person to pray for us, please feel free to recommend the 'Wednesday Weekly' to other like-minded intercessors in your circle of friends. Invite them either to send an e-mail or to subscribe at our website.

I'm glad to have you with us. Have an awesome week! May God find us listening more attentively to His voice this week as I am,

Yours because His,

Scott

+ You prayed that our neighbors would follow Jesus... as much as I'd like to see this, it didn't happen this week. Why we haven't left, however, may prove an opening to share how we follow His leading and how He leads others to follow Him elsewhere.

+ You asked God to make present 'current events' a quick thing of the past... it doesn't look like that may happen, however, I believe our intercession will help us understand what God is doing in these times.

+ You prayed that the designer of the ceramic tiles we hope to put in the Prayer Garden would provide quality work in these early planning stages... wow, has he ever!

+ You asked God to grant me the insights needed to register a "dot.org" name for the Prayer Center and to find an excellent host for the site... while the registration/hosting has not materialized yet, I do believe I have a bit more information on how to proceed and am grateful for your intercession. This site will be helpful in the coming days:

+ I asked that a Thursday breakfast meeting be used of God for letting others know of the opportunities that exist at the Prayer Center... I was able to share with a few folks, so now word will spread. Thank you for praying!

+ I asked, too, that the beginning of spring would find me exercising again... the cold rain on Friday postponed the return to exercise, and ten-day forecasts don't look much better. I have about another month to be stuck on this plateau before I start dropping more weight. You can read those stories on the blogger page.

+ You joined me in asking for His guidance in a strategic meeting this past Monday that would pave the way for the future of the Prayer Center... He heard your requests, and I now have a better idea of what needs to be done. Stay tuned for further details.

+ You prayed with Shirin last Saturday as she participated in a church sponsored Mother's Day breakfast, where each lady was to invite a friend that also needed to hear God's message. Eventually, the church would like to start a parenting class from the names of the breakfast guests... the celebration was postponed until some time in April. We'll keep you posted!

+ Finally, you also prayed with Shirin on Saturday (Mother's Day here) for all the mothers who had lost children on both sides of this conflict, asking that they personally come to know the True Comforter and Giver of eternal life... we are appreciative of your pinpointed intercession and trust that these mothers will come to Him soon.

<>< Winter has so far delayed its departure for a week, and the forecast still looks cold and rainy. While we're grateful for the life-giving rain, we would ask that you would 'turn up the heat' on interceding for our utilities to stay at a reliable level.

<>< I hope to settle a phone bill issue with our phone company today or tomorrow, depending on if I find them open, and really need your intercession to make sure that 'communication' is clear.

<>< Now that I have a better grasp on what the International Intercessors Prayer Center of Jerusalem needs, join me in asking God that the time I invest there will be interference free; specifically, ask that Shirin and I coordinate our family's travel needs.

<>< Remember Jasmine as you go to your 930 and 1100 meetings this week. She will be two months away from turning 4 and is beginning to show signs of those even-numbered years. We are grateful for her growth and development and need His insight and wisdom as to how to train up this child in the way she should go. I love to hear her spontaneous songs of praise, especially in the grocery store!

<>< Finally, we're at least another month away from knowing of the presence of Jasmine's sibling. Continue praying with us for God's will concerning our family size.
