Another big thank you for your prayers at a critical time in the lives of friends in Gaza. It seemed that the people we saw on the streets of Jerusalem looked 'different' in the days following that late night attack, but maybe it was just us seeing them differently needing His forgiveness...

Well, it looks like I (Scott) got a bit too comfortable at the dinner table last week as I added two of the three pounds I'd dropped the previous week (sigh). Ahh, but at least I know how and why the extra weight came back ;-)

I have a copy of Chris Pirillo's "Poor Richard's Email Publishing" and hope to learn how to become more effective in communicating our prayer needs to you. FWIW, Chris has an incredible website for computer help at www.lockergnome.com/ and I highly recommend it. You'll see subscription opportunities for his website at the bottom of the front page.

One last bit of news... you have been praying for our home network blues, and I'm happy to report that we've made significant progress. The setup is not quite what it could be, but we're getting there. The breakthrough, incidentally, came within twelve hours of Shirin's birthday. How did you know she needed prayer for that? <vbg> Thank you for being so faithful in prayer : -)

May God find us listening more attentively to His voice this week as I am,

Yours because His,

Scott

+ You asked God to grant us the patience to handle (and finish) undone projects... one project saw significant progress as may you already know, and additional progress was made with the home network headache. We are also on the way to recovering some hard drive data thought to have been previously lost : -)

+ You prayed for "Simon" as he learned to develop a prayer network... we sat together the other day and, wow, has he been on top of things! Not knowing for sure how to import over 150 email addresses, he entered them all by hand and now has an intimate knowledge of those who will pray.

+ You remembered Shirin as she celebrated her natural birthday last Thursday. Jasmine and I had a surprise cake for her... we had a super day together and *thank you* for your e-greetings - cheaper than cards and more efficient : -)

+ You joined us in giving thanks for Jasmine's stewardship with her allowance. She has Altoids tins for her tithe, her savings, and her daily spending... as we shopped for Shirin's cake, Jasmine had wanted to buy a sponge so she could wash dishes. We found the sponge, stood in line to pay for it and the cake, and then I asked her if she'd brought her money. "No, Daddy, I forgot it. Let's put it back," she said, and then I reminded her that she could buy it when she brought her money. No tears, no whining, but a solid understanding (I think) of living in a "cash-only" world.

+ You prayed that I would take the rest I need... it's amazing what a few extra hours of sleep will do : -)

+ You asked God to give us His insight into an upcoming purchase... with the help of a co-worker who put feet to our prayers, God gave us the insight we asked for! Thank you!

+ You continued praying over our language learning and "cultural acquisitioning"... this is one of our ongoing pressing needs and, would you believe, we saw lots of progress this week! Thank you for praying!

+ Finally, you asked God to give "Bruce" special insight for learning how to use a computer efficiently... we ventured into digital photo editing, and I could tell how his level of confidence had risen. Thank you for praying for him!

<>< Continue praying for a new couple's adjustment to living in a new area.

<>< Pray that a high-speed Internet access line will help get the Global Prayer Center of Jerusalem 'off the ground' and help a co-worker with his dial-up dilemma.

<>< Ask God to grant me the abilities to help troubleshoot the computer challenges my co-workers face.

<>< Join us in asking God to send one or two short-term workers with an interest in baseball. We could also a volunteer who could give a pitching clinic.
