So there's a peace summit this week? Talk about an opportunity for God's people to intercede at such a crucial point in history. In other news, I saw the following headline recently and wondered why certain 'denominational leaders' can openly share their political views while certain 'denominational employees' (ahem) cannot. Any advice would be most welcome! "Land, Rogers, others urge strong stand by White House on 'road map.' " Since we always need "one more" person to pray for us, please feel free to recommend the 'Wednesday Weekly' to other like-minded intercessors in your circle of friends. + <L A S T W E E K><+ You prayed that plans for Jasmine's 4th birthday will go unhindered... so far, so good! I was able to pick up a few goodies in the Old City last Wednesday and gave God thanks for your intercession. I also learned an interesting proverb: "Do not confine your children to your own learning, for they were born in another time." + You asked God to give me the proper insights to help co-workers with computer needs... what a delight it was to be able to help meet those computing needs! A USB cable modem may not suffice since there doesn't appear to be a way to hook it up so another computer can make use of the high-speed connection, so we're looking at swapping it for an Ethernet modem that can be connected to a router. + You prayed that Shirin's Arabic class would continue to meet her language needs... Shirin says, "We have been studying New Testament stories. Pray with me for opportunities to use what I am learning." + You prayed that the time I have at the Prayer Center would be focused and pointed on strategic prayer needs... I can see that this will be an ongoing prayer need. Wow, talk about distractions this week! + You asked God to grant another six-month extension to Dan's visa, and may the three of us catch that grace... well, we didn't make it this week on account of 'red tape' in securing a 'letter of permission' (sigh).
<T H I S W E E K><<>< Pray that Dan (and other co-workers) would receive necessary information to proceed with visa renewals. <>< Ask God to grant "Bill" safe passage into the airport so he can begin a time of volunteer service. <>< Jasmine's playgroup will have a party for her Thursday, so join us in praying for a memorable experience. Pray, too, that her 'official' celebration be as memorable, if not more so. <>< Once "Bill" is in town, pray that he would adjust to the time change and travel weariness. Pray that our time together would be mutually beneficial. <>< Ask God to grant me the energy needed to pick up co-workers from the airport when their plane arrives around 4am. <>< Cover two co-workers this week as their latest stage of language acquisition comes to an end.
