Two weeks ago our digital bathroom scales finally became a 'time machine' as I saw 200.2 for the first time. Last week it went back "40 years" to 196.2, and I hope to see it go back another "132 years" to my 183# goal. For our metric friends, my height is 183cm, and I'm shooting for a matching weight in pounds, which happens to be 83kg. A lot of you have been with me from my 250#/112kg beginning, and I thank you for your encouragement : -)

Permanent measures yield permanent results, so our change in eating habits from eating processed junk to eating high-water content foods like fruits/vegetables will keep the weight off. I've mentioned Harvey and Marilyn Diamond's "Fit For Life" book as what turned me around. Once you read it, you'll see that it's all common sense. The trouble, of course, is that we allow our taste buds to overrule what the rest of our body needs.

God has put us in an incredible position to encourage and mobilize the body of Christ to offer unceasing prayer on behalf of the 12,000 people groups of the world and, eventually, the soon-to-be-named facility where this happens will be up and running. Our company oversees some property in the middle of Jerusalem, and we're looking forward to developing what used to be the Jerusalem House into something along the lines of a "Global Prayer Center of Jerusalem." We're encountering a few setbacks and hope to see them resolved one at a time. Allow me to share a few.

We need a name. The "Global Prayer Center of Jerusalem" doesn't give us a usable acronym as 'GPC' is already in use. Feel free to share suggestions! Second, the plot of land that will become the Prayer Garden needs a green thumb. I'll be that green thumb until a real one comes along, so that means I need some gardening tips and basic know how of how to manage overgrowth. Third, the up and coming Research Center still needs to be networked and online. A laptop has been donated, and we've received a few gifts to purchase additional equipment. Finally, we'll always need ongoing intercession as you well know that the enemy of men's souls does not want prayer going on for the people in his clutches.

We'll eventually start an e-zine like this one along with a website that will facilitate prayer for the people groups of the world and, in particular, the unreached people groups of the world.

Anyway, please feel free to recommend the 'Wednesday Weekly' to other like-minded intercessors in your circle of friends. Invite them either to send me an email at scoterry31684-subscribe@topica.com or to subscribe at our website [https://acts82640.tripod.com/]

May God find us listening more attentively to His voice this week as I am,

Yours because His,

Scott

+ You asked God to bring the telephone workers we needed last week... although they didn't bother to call or anything, it has been arranged for their arrival early next week (see below).

+ May 'visa visit vi' (#6) be the one that granted our official visa, you prayed... well, I've had a few hours to cool off; heck, I've had twenty-three weeks to cool off. Do you think an ordained So Bapt minister with a wife and toddler are a threat to the security here??

+ You prayed that Shirin and I would continue improving our communication skills so we could continue being incarnate witnesses... we feel more comfortable with our language and believe it's greatly due to your intercession; of course, communication is more than language, but we still feel comfortable. Thank you for praying.

+ You joined us in praying for Jasmine's expressed interest in learning the English alphabet; specifically, that we would be keenly aware of her interest and seize each moment as a learning opportunity... my, oh, my! "Daddy, I want to type on the keyboard!" Now where has she seen that?!

+ Finally, Shirin asked you to pray for ladies who are interested in hearing Good News to come into her life so she could practice her Arabic by communicating the Message above all messages... Shirin writes, "God has used my neighbor who knows some ladies in the Old City who are willing to let me visit them. I am waiting until after the current holiday to start making contact with them. Thank you for praying!"

<>< As world attention focuses on the US, pray that she would follow God. There has been speculation that the US will do "something" to be removed as the domineering world power so as to shift that position back to Europe where, eventually, Daniel's ten toes will arise to give way to a new world leader, the Antichrist (is my dispensationalism showing <g>?) Continue to keep *all* world leaders under watchful prayer, especially you know who ;-)

<>< Shirin has additional Arabic studies with a small group of like minded believers. Ask God to show them the end result of language study by way of a cpm.

<>< Ask God to give "Joe" patience during his two-hour watch for the telephone workers, and then ask Him to give me the same measure once I tag-team with "Joe" for a second two-hour shift.

<>< Continue praying for "Bruce" as he conquers his computer

<>< Finally, pray that I might learn HTML in order to give you a choice between the Plain Text knee-mail and an HTML edition. Any color preference?

>< Pray for the Palestinian people. >

CALENDAR UPDATES

<*If you're not receiving our bimonthly snail-mail newsletter, let us know so we can send it to you!><

5, Omar’s salvation

* While it didn't happen today, I believe that he has had more prayer offered on his behalf than ever! Please continue!

6, Ask for the local conflict to end.

* I firmly believe that it will only end when God's people rise up to the challenge of praying it to a close. Shall we?

7, Reliable utilities

* We were gone most of today, so we didn't get to enjoy another full day of electricity : -)

8, Pray for laborers to share in settlements.

* It annoys me that I cannot name *one* worker in such a great harvest field, especially since "my own denomination" seems to encourage more people to live in these settlements. Where are the workers??

9, Christians to have a heart for the lost

* How encouraging it was to hear this from the pulpit : -)

10, We would fall deeper in love with Jesus.

* Today I found myself not loving the people around me on account of the ongoing visa renewal circus, so I guess it's hard to love Jesus if I can't love those around me (sigh). Wait a minute, they're not my family (yet).

11, Ask God to bless you, our intercessors

* I have thanked God for you every day, especially as I add these updates.
