18-December update
25 - 31 December 2002 (206)

Last week...

(1) You prayed for a volunteer group coming to assist with the development of the Global Prayer Center of Jerusalem by asking God to give them His vision for what needs to be done... seems I jumped the gun by being a month early :*-)

Your praying, however, was not in vain as I am sure God spoke to those who need to be here.

(2) You also prayed that God's will would be done in the current situations in the US and here... wow, is this an ongoing need!

(3) Finally, you asked God to grant me the endurance to sift through unpacked boxes... I think of you praying as I do this dreaded task.

Let me give you some background. We left Gaza in mid-September 2001 and returned about ten months later under different circumstances. To make a long story short, we had to pack up our household belongings and move to where we are now. Since we had not finished unpacking from our first move (June 2001) there were still lots of items that had not been disposed of properly. That's what I'm doing now. Ugh.

Part of what makes it so hard is seeing all of "what could have been" and what was not finished. I believe that God indeed asked those things of me, but repeated evacuations prevented much of it from 'finishing,' at least from my perspective.

This week...

(1) A co-worker needs clear passage to get personal household belongings out of the West Bank in order move to Gaza. These next few days warrant your intercession for this to happen.

(2) Pray for Jasmine as she adjusts to a new "play schedule."

(3) I could use some continued prayer for those boxes as I'm making headway : -)

Gratefully,

Scott

* CALENDAR UPDATES *

9, Ask God to bless you, our intercessors

* I trust that He did : -)

10, Reliable utilities

* Today was a great day in terms of reliable utilities, and we thank you for praying for our electricity et al to stay on!

11, Ask God to end the violence.

* Well, it hasn't happened yet, but I believe fervent intercession will do so. I was led to look up the word 'apartheid' in the 1979 edition of Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary and found this:

"[Afrik, lit., separateness] : racial segregation; specif : a policy of segregation and political and economic discriminations against non-European groups in the Republic of So. Africa"

12, Jasmine’s ongoing safety

* Thank you for keeping her safe. She tumbles every now and then, but that comes from trying new dance steps.

13, Ask God to bless “Pastor Jack.”

* I'm sure he has been blessed by your intercession. Matthew 5:9 and Ephesians 2:14-15 gave the background for this morning's message.

14, May Pastor Hanna’s wife be allowed entry to Gaza.

* How refreshing to know that this was answered thanks to ongoing prayer : -)

15, open to God’s appointments

* We'll always need this kind of prayer, especially as we get "into a groove."
