18-December update

Thank you for your faithful intercession : -)

Last week...

(1) The closet was due last Thursday, and you prayed it in and setup... and how!  Notice the "before" picture was taken on Tuesday while the "after" picture was taken on Thursday. Guess what day fell in between? Hope you can see the difference you made!

(2) Our visa is due to expire soon, so you prayed that a renewal would be granted quickly... we received word of progress last Wednesday and then picked up applications on Thursday. Monday's visit looked promising, but I didn't have all that was required - not that the visa people would *tell* you what was needed <g>, but it was quite an experience I'll endure again once I have 'more' information (sigh).

(3) You prayed for the Carter family's safe arrival back to the US after a wonderful three weeks' of service... it's been rumored that they had a long layover in London, so keep praying for their safe arrival back to the US.

(4) You also prayed that the next group of GPC volunteers would arrive safely with luggage intact, and then you prayed that God would bless them as they follow Him... they arrived safely Monday night, eager to begin where the Carter family left off.

This week...

(1) Ask God to grant an extension to our stay here.

(2) Keep praying for the Carter family's safe arrival.

(3) Pray for the ongoing food distribution teams as they make a difference in the lives of lost people. Be sure to visit www.palestinian-arabs.com/ to see which city, town, village, or refugee camp you or your group might adopt.

(4) Surround Tuesday's computer help session in fervent prayer as I look forward to helping make my co-worker's lives easier.

Love and grace,

Scott

* CALENDAR UPDATES *

28, more laborers

* There will be at least two more groups of three coming to develop the Global Prayer Center of Jerusalem : -)

29, no attacks at all

* Hallelujah! To my knowledge there were no attacks from either side today! Whoo-hoo!

30, Jasmine, 39 mos.

* Jasmine goes to Burger King on the 30th as a family tradition in celebration of another month of growth and development. Today was great! A co-worker helped us get a flat tire repaired, and then we invited him to help us celebrate Jasmine's day. Hope you can visit the web site to see! https://acts82640.tripod.com/

It was a good thing we repaired the tire quickly since we had another flat when we got back home - same side but on the back (sigh)

31, love for the lost

* What a turn... the lost showed a love for *me*! Omar and one of his brothers took a tire of ours in need of repair and fixed it.

1, May He have 1st place.

* This month I've wanted to focus on scheduling my priorities more than prioritizing my schedule. I've also been in the process of losing weight. June saw me at 247 (112kg), and here's what's happened: July, 238 (108kg); August, 231 (105kg); and today 224 (102kg). I've had a few weeks where there was no loss/gain and a week where I went up a pound or two. How am I losing this weight?

4am - noon I only have liquids or fruit; from noon - 8pm I eat whatever I like; 8pm - 4am I eat nothing at all plus I drink at least three (3) quarts of water a day. Once I can start exercising, I wonder how much weight will come off?

My goal is to stay below 200 (90kg). My last total cholesterol was 117 with the HDL at 26 and the LDL at 58 wishing I had DSL (or cable <g>).

2, Pray that we be His faithful followers.

* I have felt a different approach to ministry this third term, including a great reduction in stress. I want o continue following where He leads.

3, Ask that our marriage grow sweeter.

* Jasmine has 'grown up' now that she's "going to school." The way she views her daycare is special, a reflection of our marriage. Thanks : -)
