Thank you once again for your faithful intercession : -)

Pastor Hanna's wife is home in Gaza!! Here's an email from a local believer in Gaza:

"Hi Scot how are you thank you for your love and incouragement. The last two days were very hard because I felt that I was under pressure I was not relaxed . I have a vision for the work on nov. in ramadan pray for this ministry and till others also. GOOD NEWS Pastor hana and suhad are at home ."

It's always a joy to read God's Word and find a verse or passage that speaks directly to your heart. My Wednesday Quiet Time found me in Ecclesiastes rejoicing over verses 19b-20 of chapter 5 as those verses seem as if they were written exactly for me!

Ecclesiastes 5:19b-20, "...and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God. For he shall not much remember the days of his life; because God answereth him in the joy of his heart."

I have been having so much fun 'working' that it hardly seems like 'work' at all. Most of you know, too, how forgetful I am of the past unless it's written down somewhere <g>. Now I know why I don't remember the days of my life : -)

Last week...

(1) You asked God to grant an extension to our stay here... it hasn't happened yet, but we certainly need the advanced prayer support!

(2) You kept praying for the Carter family's safe arrival... Wednesday evening I received the following email message from them, "We are safely home and blessed. Hope you have a great week. We'll be in touch...."

Thank you for praying for them : -)

(3) You then prayed for the ongoing food distribution teams as they've been making a difference in the lives of lost people. I invited you to visit www.palestinian-arabs.com/ to see which city, town, village, or refugee camp you or your group might adopt... here's an email I rec'd from the gentleman on whose heart God put this need:

"HI Scot how are you and how is Yasmine and Shireen we are fine the ministry of releif went on very well until before two days the ministry of the social work in the government asked me to stop this ministry and they want to get hold of every thing but I refused telling them that I and pastor Hana will speak with them about it when he comes yesterday I continued please pray and till others to pray"

Please pray that God's way would be done in this situation!

(4) You also surrounded Tuesday's computer help session in fervent prayer as I looked forward to helping make my co-worker's lives easier... there were several times when I sensed your intercession, especially when answers came 'from nowhere.' Thank you for praying : -)

This week...

(1) Pray for my youngest sister Wendi as she undergoes a biopsy this week. At age 11 she was diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma in 1990. I'm asking you to join me in asking that her cancer not return.

(2) Pray for Dan's adjustment to a new culture, new languages, and new surroundings.

(3) Continue to ask God to grant an extension to our stay here.

Gratefully,

Scott

"Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you...," 1 Samuel 12:23

* CALENDAR UPDATES *

4, Join us in asking for our 2nd child.

* Your intercession is deeply appreciated, and we will let you know when things change for the good!

5, May Jasmine learn of Jesus.

* She started "school" (daycare) on 2-Sep and is the only child there from a Christian background. She has a compassionate heart for the children who cry for their mom and, remember, she *loves* to sing the song "I Want To Be Like Jesus." She's getting a chance : -)

6, Yasser Arafat’s salvation

* I haven't heard of this happening yet, so let's pray until it happens.

7, Ariel Sharon’s salvation

* Not yet - may his celebration of a new year lead to a new birth.

8, Pray that we find a church home.

* We returned to the place of worship where last month we were 'delayed' by the Lord's Supper, an opportunity that kept us out of harm's way. This group has wonderful worship, even though most of the words are new to my vocabulary. I usually try to translate the meaning in my head, but the spirit of worship sweeps me into His presence. I think your prayers have been answered : -)

9, Ask God to use Dan.

* Dan arrived safely with luggage intact about an hour after his plane landed and has already been a blessing to us with a "can-do" attitude and spirit!

10, Pray for Dan as he experiences jet lag.

* Dan sat in on today's computer help session, but I'm not sure it helped him wake up <g>. I told him of your intercession for him, and he perked up : -)
