It's been difficult to come up with a "catchy thought" this week as my mind has been stretched from side to side; consequently, your ongoing focused intercession is even more deeply appreciated!

Oh, for the return of Jesus :-)

More on Ramadan... only this time geared toward youth! (see bottom of page)

As always, I'm glad to have you with us. Have an awesome week! May God find us listening more attentively to His voice this week as I am,

Yours because His,

Scott

+ Scott asked for intercession to 'get back in the saddle' of the Prayer Center after last Wednesday's wireless setup for a co-worker...wow, did things pick up quickly after you prayed! Thank you!!

+ Shirin also asked for focused intercession as she established a new routine... She writes, "Thank you for praying. We are slowly getting back into the school routine."

+ Jasmine asked that you would pray for her new teachers to know Jesus, so you asked God to bring salvation to Miss Dima, Miss Carol, and Miss Pauline...not yet, so Jasmine asks for your ongoing intercession on their behalf.

<>< Pray for Scott as he focuses attention on what the Lord has in store for him.

<>< Shirin and some co-workers recently visited the Director of the Lazarus Home for a time of prayer. Join them in rejoicing in how God has provided and protected the home. Please pray for the Director's health as she is always on the go and her body is having a hard time keeping up with her.

<>< Please pray for the scheduling and planning of English lessons in a women's training center.

<>< Jasmine asks prayer to help her "get things in order for (her) classes." She's doing well and realizes the power of intercession to help her do even better.

NEW SITE FIRES UP YOUTHS FOR PRAYER

A dynamic new youth site called www.30DaysFire.net with Hot Links, Sights and Sounds and the 30-Days Ramadan Prayer Material has launched.

Written by the professional designers from the zipperSNAP group, Bill, the brains behind the site, is excited. "The concept was to speak to a more youth-oriented crowd. Something which could inform, present some prayer points and offer the possibility of exploring other cultures by means of music and video links."

The vision behind the whole project is to raise up a new movement among young people. "Last year the Lord really encouraged us to work on mobilizing a younger group of people," says Dwight, 30-Days chair person. "We wanted a more multimedia approach."

"What we need now is the help of the public," continues Dwight. "We need to make this known to all kinds of youth and adult prayer movements. Our aim is to get as many people praying as possible - the end result of prayer is what is important."

Ron, of the 30-Days International Team adds, "It would be great if we could all pass the word along about the new site and possibilities. Write about it in your emails, share the links, embed the flash video and tell others what God is doing. I believe the youth want to be mobilized in praying for the Muslim world."

The www.30DaysFire.net website requires free Adobe (formerly Macromedia) Flash software! [ Return to Top ]

Thanks to NG for this great story :-)

A voyaging ship was wrecked during a storm at sea and only two of the men on it were able to swim to a small, desert like island.

The two survivors, not knowing what else to do, agree that they had no other recourse but to pray to God.

However, to find out whose prayer was more powerful, they agreed to divide the territory between them and stay on opposite sides of the island.

The first thing they prayed for was food. The next morning, the first man saw a fruit-bearing tree on his side of the land, and he was able to eat its fruit. The other man's parcel of land remained barren.

After a week, the first man was lonely and he decided to pray for a wife.

The next day, another ship was wrecked, and the only survivor was a woman who swam to his side of the land. On the other side of the island, there was nothing.

Soon the first man prayed for a house, clothes, more food. The next day all of these were given to him. However, the second man still had nothing.

Finally, the first man prayed for a ship, so that he and his wife could leave the island. In the morning, he found a ship docked at his side of the island. The first man boarded the ship with his wife and decided to leave the second man on the island. He considered the other man unworthy to receive God's blessings, since none of his prayers had been answered.

As the ship was about to leave, the first man heard a voice from heaven booming, "Why are you leaving your companion on the island?"

"My blessings are mine alone, since I was the one who prayed for them," the first man answered. "His prayers were all unanswered and so he does not deserve anything."

"You are mistaken!" the voice rebuked him. "He had only one prayer, which I answered. If not for that, you would not have received any of my blessings."

"Tell me," the first man asked the voice, "what did he pray for that I should owe him anything?"

"He prayed that all your prayers be answered"

For all we know, our blessings are not the fruits of our prayers alone, but those of another praying for us.
