Imagine my surprise when Pastor Darryl, a fellow Wednesday Weekly Wintercessor, shared the following (BTW, when you click on the link, you'll see the high school I attended for 9th/10th grade until the 'new school' was finished):

Scott,

Well...The Da Vinci Code continues to gain momentum. Last Sunday Fox News 5 from DC filmed our service and did an interview. We are trying to get the audio synced. Here is what we have so far. http://www.staffordcrossing.org/index.cfm/PageID/965

All For Him!

* A Christian response to "The Da Vinci Code."

From our "Just So You Know" Department: I saw and heard part of US President Bush's speech concerning a political party he incorrectly called "ha-moss." The correct pronunciation is "ha-MASS."

It's going to be amazing to see what can be accomplished within two weeks' time <g>. The next eight weeks after that, however will be 'easier,' or at least I hope so. Jasmine will be baptized the Sunday after our arrival, the day before we begin an eight-day 'debriefing' conference.

We'll miss the first day of Vacation Bible School on account of the debriefing conference but will quickly fall into step for the last four days. Shirin and I are praying that a lot of 5th-6th graders we're helping to teach will surrender their lives to Jesus. Pray with us!

After VBS we're down to six weeks where I'll preach my 'best sermon' from (where else?) Acts 8:26-40 on eight different occasions. One of those occasions, however, will be for three morning services. In addition to sharing our PowerPoint presentation at least five times, we'll have an "11AM" interview and a Saturday WMU Associational speaking engagement.

Add to that the numerous opportunities we'll have to encourage and equip the saints and you have a wonderful time. We do have a few days here and there where we'll show Jasmine American culture and try to explain some history to her. She's excited about reacquainting with relatives and making new friends.

One thing we'd like to accomplish during our visit to the US is to enlist at least two hundred fifty (250) new Wednesday Weekly Wintercessors. I think that's one of my favorite memories in the making: when I sign a commitment bookmark, shake your hand, look you in the eye, and thank you for the ministry of intercession!

But, like I said, it will be amazing to see what can be done within these next two weeks: a monthly financial report, the Day of Prayer and Fasting at the Prayer Center, follow-up dental visit(s), prayer items for the IPCJ, progress on the prayerwalking guide for volunteers, transitioning from the desktop to the laptop (always a glitch somewhere), computer cleanups, bidding temporary farewells to the church family, picking up 'last minute' volunteers who hope to return to the IPCJ in the fall, cleaning the house and, oh yes - packing :*-)

In the midst of all this, we do *not* want to miss out on what God might do in a neighbor's life (or in our own). This is partly why your intercession is so vital: by praying for us like this, you've come to know us better (at least I hope so <g>). By making mention of all these 'to-do' items, we're surrendering to you our deepest needs, realizing that apart form prayer "it ain't gonna happen" peacefully.

I'm glad to have you with us. Have an awesome week! May God find us listening more attentively to His voice this week as I am,

Yours because His,

Scott

<>< You prayed for Scott's "well being" as he tried to tie up loose ends before getting ready to pack for Stateside Assignment (STAS)... Scott says he could tell you were praying and is beyond grateful!

<>< Shirin asked ongoing prayer for the finishing of our various medical/dental appointments before leaving for STAS...Thank you for praying. I have one more dental appointment before we leave.

<>< As Jasmine turned 7 last Tuesday, she asked that her friends not get hurt from falling at school... Jasmine says, "It's starting to get better. Thank you for praying!"

<T H I S  W E E K><

<>< Please pray with us over the Day of Fasting and Praying for Egypt.

<>< Please join us in praying that Jasmine will end well in her homeschooling as well as with her local school.

<>< Jasmine asks for a good week being 7 and for God to give her what she needs to be 7 (sounds a little scary to be older and wants his guidance).

<* Pray for the Khmer of Cambodia.><
