Looks like we're getting another chance at this, and it looks like we're gonna need some new US Senators. May I join the chorus asking you to call, write, and/or e-mail your State Senator and ask him to support the Family Marriage Amendment and vote FOR IT when it comes before the Senate for consideration? Now, I know I don't wax political in the Wednesday Weekly; however, I am deeply concerned for the country in which my nieces and nephews will grow up. Due to my limited Internet access, I am unaware of how each Senator voted; however, I do understand that the issue will come alive again and, hallelujah, that gives God's people another chance to SPEAK UP! Scroll to the end of this page to find a listing of your State Senators and their positions prior to the last vote. Some of them even have toll-free numbers. Please use them. We left the "Guest House" in one part of West Virginia and made our way to camp, just outside of Charleston. Imagine my surprise when I checked the TracFone and saw I'd been connected for almost three hours (the time it took us to drive from the Guest House to camp). Ugh : -( Well, that was Sunday night; however, Sunday morning was worse as we took Jasmine to the emergency room of a local hospital. She had been complaining of leg pain since late Friday, and things worsened to where she had difficulty walking. The best we could figure from the doctor's assessment was she had been bitten by an insect and an infection had set in. An anti-biotic started helping her feel better, but we believe that the onslaught of prayer from the early arriving camp counselors made a great difference! Those of you who've been praying for Jasmine in general also had an impact on her life, and we thank you! Since we always need "one more" person to pray for us, please feel free to recommend the 'Wednesday Weekly' to other like-minded intercessors in your circle of friends. + <L A S T W E E K>< ++ As we headed back to our Guest House, you asked God to grant us a new dose of His travel mercy as our hearts went out for the people of this beautiful state... once again, He was faithful :-) Thank you for following His lead. + You prayed with us as we closed another chapter of our journey and tied up loose ends to begin the next one; specifically, you prayed that Jasmine would see His hand in our moving about... once again, sanity was maintained thanks to your intercession. Jasmine expressed excitement over her first camping experience and, consequently, it seemed that the pain she'd felt in her leg was 'forgotten.' + Jasmine began her first ever week of camp and, boy, do I wish I could convey to you her level of enthusiasm! You prayed that her time at camp would be even more than what she was expecting... she has been having a blast and is being exposed to lots of things for the first time. + You asked God to use me and Shirin to speak to the campers last week, especially in the area of work overseas... we've had lots of opportunities to chat one-on-one, and we cherish those times.
